Chocolate Cake
Chocolate Cake
Oil on Canvas
8x10x1.5 inches oil on canvas
Leading up to my birthday I was craving a moist chocolate cake and I got the idea for this painting. I purchased 3 chocolate cakes to make sure I found the right one for this.
Thick layers of chocolate frosting stacked high. Moist crumbs falling onto a bright gold cake board . A fork sliding in for yet another delectable bite. The bold red background sets the tone — dramatic, joyful, unapologetic. It makes the deep browns of the cake feel even richer and more indulgent. Heavy, expressive brushstrokes mirror the decadence of the dessert itself. So you can almost feel the frosting.
Life is short.
Eat the cake.
