A Taste of Summer

A colorful, nostalgic celebration of a summer dinner shared around the table. This painting captures a lobster dinner with a bright blue-and-white checkered tablecloth, a glass of white wine, olives, and a slice of lemon—all painted with expressive, energetic brushstrokes and plenty of texture.

The scene was inspired by a special family experience. That month, we visited the fish market and picked out a lobster together, giving my kids their first introduction to the whole experience. It brought back memories of growing up visiting my dad’s hometown of Halifax, Nova Scotia, where seafood and gathering around the table were part of the rhythm of life.

For me, this painting is less about the lobster itself and more about the joy of sharing a meal, creating memories with your family, and the little moments that become stories you remember forever.
